'Geek girl Elle Wittimer lives and breathes Starfield, the classic science-fiction series she grew up watching with her late father. So when she sees a cosplay contest for a new Starfield movie, she has to enter. The prize? An invitation to the ExcelsiCon Cosplay Ball and a meet-and-greet with the actor slated to play Federation Prince Carmindor in the reboot. With savings from her gig at the Magic Pumpkin food truck and her dad's old costume, Elle's determined to win - unless her step sisters get there first.

Teen actor Darien Freeman used to live for cons - before he was famous. Now they're nothing but autographs and awkward meet-and-greets. Playing Carmindor is all he has ever wanted, but Starfield fandom has written him off as just another dumb heart-throb. As ExcelsiCon draws near, Darien feels more and more like a fake - until he meets a girl who shows him otherwise. But when she disappears at midnight, will he ever be able to find her again?'

This book was cute.

I was excited to finally read this book. I mean come on, a Cinderella retelling that's part romance, part love letter to nerd culture and fandoms. Whats not to love.

It didn't take me long to get caught up in the lives of these great characters. I followed them on the ups and downs of their journeys while being complete in awe of the world they were living in.

I absolutly loved the role of fandoms, blogs and cons in this book. My geek heart was in heaven. I also adored getting to see elements from Cinderella weave its way into this very modern retelling.

My only problem with this book was it was a little predictable. I can't really complain about that though, as it is a retelling of a very well-known story it shouldnt have really surprised me that it was predictable.

Ashley Poston did a wonderful job with this book. I am glad that I finally read it and I know that I will be reading it again in the future. I have no shame in saying my heart beats nerd and Geekerella is my kind of book.

Geekerella by Ashley Poston is the perfect book for everyone's inner geek.
