Queen Of Hearts tells the origin story off one of literatures most infamous villains The Queen of Hearts. Princess Dinah will one day rule over Wonderland, but for now all the Princess longs for is her Father's love and a future with Wardley, the boy she loves. When a betrayal breaks her heart and threatens her future, Princess Dinah is thrown in the dangerous political side of Wonderland.

This wasnt my first Alice in Wonderland retelling, having loved the others I have read I had high hopes for this book. Unfortunately it just didn't live up to my expectations.

This book does a great job in weaving familiar people and places into a new story, anyone familiar with Alice In Wonderland will get a kick out-of-the-way Colleen Oaks has portrayed certain much-loved characters.

Colleen Oaks did a great job in crafting this world 'Wonderland' in a new and fresh way. Her writing was easy to follow and understand. I really enjoyed getting to see characters that I love pop up in new and unexpected ways.

I think my problem with this book was its political element. Queen Of Hearts is far more political than other retelling I have read and after a while it just got boring and predictable. By mid way through this book I was over it. I kept reading purely because I don't DNF books.

I did end up enjoying the last few chapters but im not sure if its enough for me to pick up the rest of this series, im just not invested enough to really care about what happens to these characters.

I can definitely see why people would love the Queen Of Hearts by Colleen Oaks, unfortunately it just wasnt for me.
