'Dimple Shah has it all figured out. With graduation behind her, she’s more than ready for a break from her family, from Mamma’s inexplicable obsession with her finding the “Ideal Indian Husband.” Ugh. Dimple knows they must respect her principles on some level, though. If they truly believed she needed a husband right now, they wouldn’t have paid for her to attend a summer program for aspiring web developers…right?

Rishi Patel is a hopeless romantic. So when his parents tell him that his future wife will be attending the same summer program as him—wherein he’ll have to woo her—he’s totally on board. Because as silly as it sounds to most people in his life, Rishi wants to be arranged, believes in the power of tradition, stability, and being a part of something much bigger than himself.

The Shahs and Patel's didn’t mean to start turning the wheels on this “suggested arrangement” so early in their children’s lives, but when they noticed them both gravitate toward the same summer program, they figured, Why not?

Dimple and Rishi may think they have each other figured out. But when opposites clash, love works hard to prove itself in the most unexpected ways.'

This was a quick and easy read.

I honestly wasnt sure if I would like this book before I started reading it. I will admit, it was a bit slow and stiff at the start but it did get better. I ended up reading it fairly quickly and I did enjoy it.

I found it hard to relate to or even care about the main characters at times. I also found it a tad predictable. I got over the predictability pretty fast and still ended up enjoying the book.

I usually don't like jumping between character perceptions in books, but it really worked with this story. I loved getting to read about a culture that I am unfamiliar with. I actually really loved the cultural aspect of this book.

I didn't go into this book with high hopes, and because of that I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I think my main problem with this book was that characters were a little too young for me.

I can completely understand why this book is loved by so many people and I am really glad that I finally read it.

When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon is a quick and easy read that may just surprise you.
