Healthy, dewy skin can be easily achieved once you have identified your skin type.  But above all, there are absolute necessities for everyone regardless the various skin types. Whether you have oily, dry, sensitive or combination skin type, there are bound to be similar skincare routine that you may still need to take note.  So without further ado, get ready to remember these simple tips for a healthy, glowing skin! 


1. Cleanse, Tone, Hydrate 

These steps are the most important factor contributing to glowing skin.  It is essential for you to cleanse your face every morning and evening.  My dermatologist suggests that twice a day should be the maximum as over-cleansing may scrub away the natural sebum on your face, leaving the skin to be extremely dry or oily.  If you have sensitive skin, it is highly recommended that you get a prescribed cleanser rather than washing your face with commercial products that may dry your skin out.

Thereafter, cleanse your face again using a toner with a cotton puff.  This allows you to swab away the remaining dirt that your cleanser has failed you.  A toner is a good investment as it ensures that your skin is thoroughly cleansed right after washing.  This thus allows your moisturiser to be easily absorbed into your freshly toned skin. 

Many of you may be skeptical about using facial oils as moisturisers when you have oily skin, but trust me.  It will be the best decision that you will ever make for your skin's health.  Please do take note, however, to purchase suitable oil based on your skin type.  I highly recommend you to check out your skin type through the quiz created by Annmarie Gianni.  My face has been glowing ever since I started using the most healing products on Earth. 


2. Do Not Touch 

I, for one, am terribly guilty about making this mistake over and over again.  I'm sure many of us are tempted to scratch that itch on our faces and even try to pop that annoying pimple that is sticking out like a sore eye, right?  Well, you are definitely not alone!  Perhaps, the environment causes us to just simply give in to the itch and the temptation.  Don't.  Scratching and popping 'em pimples may result in creating 'earthquakes' and possibly scars on your face.  Moreover if your face feels itchy, it may be your skin telling you that its dry.  You may want to bring along some moisturiser wherever you go to prevent dry and flaky skin, especially those of you who wears makeup. 


3. Hydrate Yourself 

Yes, we do see this often.  But do you know that this truly works?  Personally, I thought that this was super irrelevant in the past.  But then again, our bodies composites of an average of 60% water.  This means that our cells, and organs need water to regenerate and give us our youthful skin!  

And guess what's our biggest organ in the human body?  Our skin! 

Therefore, below are some indicators to help you notice when you ought to drink up: 

• Dry / flaky skin 

• Bad breath

• Chapped lips 

• Itchy spots (e.g. arms, legs, face, etc.) 

• Fatigue 

• Headache / dizziness 

The above mentioned are early indicators of dehydration.  Dehydration causes your overall appearance to be dull.  Henceforth, it's very crucial for you to properly hydrate yourself everyday.  Staying hydrated is also a form of discipline.  Why not carry along a tumbler / water bottle so that you can refill anytime and anywhere?  Carrying a heavy bottle reminds you that you have not drank enough water.  So, this aids as a reminder for you to hydrate yourself daily, effortlessly and conveniently. 

See that?  Achieving healthy skin isn't so difficult after all, right?
