If you’re a fan of the popular American TV series The Office (Pfft! obviously you are!), you’ll know who Pam Beesly, a.k.a Jenna Fischer, a.k.a. the “young woman who snuck drinks off of other people’s tables” is.
For the uninitiated, actress Jenna Fischer portrayed the character of Pam on the show and on one particular evening – the Dunder Mifflin staffers’ bogus annual awards ceremony, the Dundies, to be exact – she “over served” herself and created quite a scene at Chili’s, where the dinner was being hosted.
Reacting to Pam’s ruckus, the casual dining chain’s manager tells the camera: “We have a strict policy not to over-serve. Apparently this young woman was sneaking drinks off of other people’s tables. I Xeroxed her driver’s license and she is not welcome at this restaurant chain ever again.”
So, as of 2005, Pam Beesly stood banned from entering ANY Chili’s outlet. But the actress went ahead to try her luck and tweeted a picture of herself in front of the restaurant chain saying “Should I try to go in?”.
As expected, the tweet sparked off a thread of tweets with fans of The Office reminiscing the particular episode. Take a look!
Chili’s too join the thread and was more than welcome towards the actress. But Brinker, the company that owns and operates Chili’s, went a step ahead and posted a message to its homepage revoking the ban on the Office character: “Effective immediately, Chili’s® Grill & Bar has removed the longstanding ban on a Scranton, Pennsylvania woman who allegedly caused a disturbance during a company awards party held at a Chili’s near the Pennsylvania town of Scranton.”
