How do I register with the Supreme Court Bar Association?

The membership of the Supreme Court Bar Association is useful for different facilities including Library Access within the premises of Supreme Court of India. First of all, you need to fill an Admission Application. It can be taken from the office of Supreme Court Bar Association for a sum of INR 1000/- This amount is payable by Demand Draft in favour of the Supreme Court Bar Association.

 

Step 1:

 

Get the admission Application form from the office of Supreme Court Bar Association for a sum of INR 1000/- It is payable by Demand Draft in favour of Supreme Court Bar Association.

 

Step 2:

Fill application form for admission to Supreme Court Bar Association, Form for library membership, ID card and proximity card form.

 

The completely filled form is followed by the following documents and items:

 

1- Notarized Photocopy of LLB degree or Provisional certificate in lieu of Degree

2-Notarized Photocopy of Enrollment certificate issued by respective State Bar Council.

3-Notarized Photocopy of Residence Proof

4-No dues certificate with a character certificate and conduct of the Bar Association with which the applicant is a member.

5-Notarized Photocopy of All India Bar Examination certificate issued by the Bar Council of India.

6- Six passport size photos

7- Affidavit on stamp paper

8-Recommendation letter from two members who have at least 10 years of standing in the Supreme Court Bar Association.

9-Other nine seconders’ signature with name and address is required who have completed at least 5 years of standing experience in SCBA

10-Demand Draft of Admission fees

●    Advocate with less than 10 years of practice- INR 10,400/-

●    Advocate with more than 10 years of practice-INR 12,900/-

11- For allotment of the chamber, the allotment or authority letter of the applicant should be attached with the admission form.

 

Step 3:

Submit the completed form at SCBA. and wait for at least 2-3days

After two to three days, you will receive a letter from the Supreme Court Bar Association related to the date where the formal interaction will be made to accept you as a member of the SCBA.

 

During the time of formal interaction, you need the following original documents: Enrollment Certificate, LLB Degree, Your certificate of practice, Original residence proof that proves your identity.
