Shortly after posting my views on my attempts to become a better person, I was engaging in a conversation with a friend from school. I didn't think too much of the conversation, the discussion was somewhat trivial, until I brought up my post. The whole idea behind my thoughts was that maybe I could help someone in some way. Throughout the conversation, I found myself opening up to him and talking about my insecurities and flaws. I was the topic of the conversation, the positives and the negatives. Now that I think about it, it's almost funny that the timing of events occurred when they did. My goal with the previous post was to reach out in hopes that others would be able to confide in someone with their problems. And a few hours later, I am the one who is talking about my issues. It is comical and yet interesting, the way the world works.
I still hold true to what was said in my last post, even more so now. In some way, I think that I was able to help this individual even though I talked about myself for most of the discussion. Perhaps it gave some insight on my line of thinking that could bring potential clarity to this person. Either way, I wanted to share this interaction to remind ourselves that some things come to you completely unexpected.
Life is funny.
