During labor day weekend we dined at a Norman’s in The Ritz-Carlton, the post on the experience can be found here. While we have dined here on numerous occasions, they never cease to amaze us! Every dining experience is fantastic, and this last visit may have been one of the best. Their menu usually stays the same, but they will occasionally make a few changes and additions to the menu. Our previous visit we were fortunate enough to ‘experience’ some of these changes.
Before ordering your meal, a server comes around offering you bread and butter. They used to give you individual dishes for olive oil, salt, and pepper, but unfortunately they stopped doing this. No worries though, the bread and butter are to die for! I’m not one to rave about bread in restaurants unless they are truly that delicious, but this bread is awesome!
As an appetizer I ordered their Fried Green Tomatoes which were incredible as always. The fried tomatoes are served with queso fresco and a spiced mayo. Not to mention, the tomatoes are always extremely ripe and juicy, and with the sauces this appetizer truly melts in your mouth. Especially the balsamic drizzle on the plate, you have to try it with the tomatoes!
For my entree I ordered a new chicken dish on their menu, the Yuzu Mojo Roasted Breast of Organic Chicken. The chicken is served with pad thai rice noodles, snap peas, and a ginger carrot purée. W O W… this dish is off the top! The chicken was sliced making it easier to eat, the pad thai was sooo good, and the whole table was convinced the purée was curry! Nevertheless, it was a wonderful meal and I highly recommend it for all you chicken lovers!
We passed on dessert since we could get dessert free in the club lounge, but I highly recommend this restaurant whether you are staying at the hotel or not. This restaurant is on the pricier side, but would be a great location for a special occasions like an anniversary or birthday! I promise you will not be disappointed.
Norman’s is located at 4012 Central Florida Parkway Orlando, FL 32837 and open daily from 6:00pm-11:00pm. There is a business casual dress code and reservations are strongly recommended. They can be made on their website here!
