What do you do when things get hard? Do you run or stand firm in God's promise?
We all have trials to face. Every day is a new opportunity to choose. Do you run and hide in the face of adversity, or do you draw nearer to God? I have found that the hard times in my life presented opportunity to build relationship with my Heavenly Father. A strong relationship with God builds a solid foundation within ourselves. Solid foundations are strong. they are able to withstand the most destructive storms of life. Without a strong relationship with God, we would crumble at the first sign of trouble.
2 Timothy 2:19 (KJV)
Never the less the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
So, how do we stay in a place of praise and worship? How do we choose to pray without ceasing? How do we keep our cool instead of screaming, slamming doors, throwing things, cussing and throat punching people? We all get discouraged. We all get mouthy or have bad thoughts. We all get mad. We all get hurt and sad.
Romans 3:23-24 (KJV)
23. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24. Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
God knows that we have a hard time in this world. He gave us Jesus because He knew we would fall. His word tells us this. To stay in God's will, we must repent, forgive ourselves and the ones who have wronged us and meditate on God's word. Our strength comes from the relationship we build with God. He will help us through any situation, we just have to choose.
John 16:33 (KJV)
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
This new week brings many opportunities to choose. I pray that you choose to draw nearer to God and let His peace and love carry you through.
