London Fashion Week S/S18: Temperley London Ruffles and Bows

London Fashion Week was a fashion filled event, beginning on September 14, and ending on September 19. One of the most memorable shows from the Runway event, was the Temperley showcase, featured on Sunday, September 17, 2017. Alice Temperley, creator of the designer label is a graduate of the Royal College of Art, who began designing in 2000 – and Temperley was born!

The interesting designs are known for a vast array of pretty colors and patterned prints, with a variety of really cute dresses, labelled “Ready to Wear.” We love the differing lengths and styles in this line, and find them to be both ageless and timeless (i.e. anyone can wear them, and they are always in fashion).

Temperley gives a unique approach to style with hand painted prints, upon luxurious fabrics, a beautiful creation of artwork for women. They remind us of lively, mood enhancing paintings on canvas.

We like the blends of traditional colors derived from British Fashion in this line (e.g. powder blue, mauve and intricate details of bolder colors like 70s inspired orange and teal). Finely detailed embroidery makes the clothing all the more intriguing. There is a lot of work and thought that goes into each and every design.

Ruffles add texture to dresses

Jewels brighten up monochromatic, light tones to create elegance

Clean lines with thoughtful details like columns of buttons, lengthen coats for longer looks

And florals are beautiful, in darker shades, bringing a modern update to early 90s fashion.

We love the British Neck Scarves that put the finishing touches on everything, adorned with oversized bows, that are very popular this season.

And the designer herself, is as cute as the buttons on the overcoats we saw, cascading down the runway.

If you are shopping the designs in stores or online, here are some of the intensified looks, we alluded to earlier on – those not seen on the runway are equally as intriguing.
