Let's see how we did yesterday

Yesterday I did my best to give you some advice on who to start and who to bench in the Denver Broncos/Carolina Panthers game. As you know Denver picked up the win 21-20, but let's see who scored what in fantasy football. I'm going to use to scoring system from my longest running league. It is customized; so my point totals might not match yours.

Cam Newton was a start last night. Newton was 18 of 33 for 194 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Newton ran the football 11 times for 54 yards and a touchdown. Newton scored 20.53 fantasy points. Not the best of nights for Newton, but the 2 touchdowns saved his night; so if you played he should be a + for you.

Trevor Simain was a sit last night. Siemain went 18 of 26 for 178 yards with 1 touchdown dn2 interceptions. Siemain added 5 carries for 20 yards. Siemain scored 9.03 fantasy points last night. If you sat Siemain this was a + for you.

Running Back:

Jonathan Stewart was a start last night. Stewart carried the football 15 times for 64 yards, but didn't catch a pass. Stewart was good for 10.15 fantasy points last night. If you started Stewart like I did he was a - for you.

C.J. Anderson was a start last night. Anderson carried the football 20 times for 92 yards and scored a touchdown. Anderson also caught 4 passes for 47 yards and a touchdown. Anderson was good for 33.90 fantasy points last night. If you started Anderson he was a huge + for you.

Wide Receiver:

Kelvin Benjamin was a start last night. Benjamin caught 6 passes for 91 yards and a touchdown. Benjamin scored 19.60 fantasy points last night. He was the highest scoring receiver in the game; so I'll take that as a +.

Devin Funchess was a sit last night. He had 1 catch for 8 yards and scored 1.65 fantasy points last night. I hope he wasn't in  your line up, but I get a + for the pick.

Ted Ginn Jr. was a sit last night. He caught 1 pass for 5 yards and scored 3.92 fantasy points last night. Ginn Jr. picked up some extra points in my league because he had 21 return yards. Even with the extra points I hope you kept him on the bench. I made a + choice here.

Corey Brown was a sit last night. Brown caught 1 pass for 11 yards last night and scored 1.85 fantasy points. Brown was the Panthers leading receiver in the pre-season, but I hope you didn''t use him last night. Another + choice for me.

Demaryius Thomas was a start last night. Thomas caught 4 passes for 48 yards and scored 7.80 fantasy points last night. With Thomas' draft position he was a must start, but you should've kept him on your bench. This was a big - for me.

Emmanuel Sanders was a sit last night. Sanders caught 5 passes for 49 yards and scored 9.90 fantasy points last night. It wasn't a great night for the Broncos receivers and I hope you kept Sanders on your bench. It was a + choice for me.

Cody Latimer was a sit last night and if there's another Broncos Thursday night game I won't even consider him a fantasy option. Latimer didn't catch a pass last night, but did score 2.50 points in my league do to his special teams play. To easy of a + choice for me and I hope he was for you to.

Tight End:

Greg Olsen was a start last night. Olsen caught 7 passes for 73 yards and scored 12.55 fantasy points last night. I have a feeling Olsen will have bigger games this season, but this wasn't bad. This is a solid point total for him; so I think it was a + choice.

Virgil Green was a sit last night, but he did better than I thought he would. Green caught 4 passes for 28 yards and scored 5.80 fantasy points last night. AS odd as it is to say this is a good start for Green and maybe down the line he can help your fantasy team. I hope you didn't use him last night. Another + choice for me.

Defense/Special Teams:

Carolina I had this unit as a start last night, but they didn't produce. They scored 9.34 fantasy points last night. I think they're still a top choice for a Defense/Special Teams in the NFL, but they didn't show it last night. A big - for me.

I had Denver's Defense/Special Teams as a start last not and I was wring with this pick as well. This is another unit that I think will be good through out the season, but last night they scored 8.79 points. This was another - choice for me.

So how did I do. It looks like I made 11 correct start/sit choices and 4 bad start/sit choices. Not a bad start to the season. Hopefully I'll do this well next Thursday.

I hope the information helped you make picks yesterday. I'll continue to keep score and see how I do as the year moves on.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope you did well last night.
