Start/Sit Week 13 TNF

Start/Sit Week 13 TNF

It looks like on of the better match ups on the Thursday night schedule as the Minnesota Vikings host the Dallas Cowboys. The Vikings stated off the season 5-0, but have went 1-6 in their last 6 games. They are currently in 2nd place a game behind the Detroit Lions in the NFC North. The Cowboys actually lost the first game of the season, but have won 10 straight since. With the right combination of wins and losses from other teams this week the Cowboys can clinch a playoff spot, but if they don't get that spot this week they'll get it soon. Let's take a look at the positions and see if there are some good fantasy starts for Week 13.

Dak Prescott has shown that he has what it takes to be an NFL starting quarterback. He's thrown for more than 300 yards in two of the last three games and is always a threat to run with the football. I like Prescott as a START tonight.

Sam Bradford doesn't throw the football down field and it's tough to rack up fantasy points checking off a couple of yards past the line of scrimmage. I'm not sold on Bradford tonight; so he's a SIT.

Running Back:

Ezekiel Elliott is a must START each and every week no matter who he's up against. Elliott is going to get his carries and those carries have turned into yards plus he has 11 rushing touchdowns. He might even catch a pass or two for you.

Jerick McKinnon is the Vikings leading rusher, but he averages just 3.0 yards per carry and has 1 rushing touchdown this season. McKinnon is a SIT for me tonight.

Matt Asiata 5 rushing touchdowns, but there's no way to guarantee he's going to get into the end zone tonight. I you have confidence he'll score use him, but I have him as a SIT.

Wide Receiver:

Dez Bryant didn't find his way into the end zone last week, but he still has 3 receiving touchdowns in the last three weeks. It seems like him and Prescott are working together better; so I have Bryant as a START tonight.

Cole Beasley will probably get 5 or 6 catches tonight, but will he get enough yards or score a touchdown are the big questions with him. In a PPR league he might be useful, but I have him as a SIT.

Stefon Diggs missed the Vikings last game with an injury and he is listed as "likely" for tonight's game. I can't take a chance on a guy who might not play; so Diggs is a SIT for me.

Adam Thielen is kind of the Vikings version of Beasley. Thielen will get his catches, but he's another guy who might not get a lot of yards or score. I have Thielen as a SIT tonight.

If Diggs doesn't play tonight Cordarrelle Patterson may see some more playing time. The Vikings can use Patterson in various ways and if you're a gambler he might be someone for you to look at. Being that it's just Thursday I'm not taking that risk; so Patterson is a SIT.

Tight End:

Jason Witten gets between 6 and 7 targets a week on average which isn't too bad, but how many of those targets will he catch. With the exception of Week 10 Witten has only went over 60 yards one time this season. I think I'm going to SIT Witten tonight.

Kyle Rudolph leads the Vikings in receiving touchdowns with 5 this season. If the Vikings get into the red zone there's a chance that Rudolph will have the football thrown his way. It's tough to bet on a guy getting a touchdown for you; so Rudolph is a SIT for me.

Defense/Special Teams:

The Dallas defense is ranked 21st in the league, but Minnesota doesn't really have their offense clicking. I'm going to go ahead and START the Dallas Defense/Special Teams tonight.

Minnesota has the #3 ranked defense in the NFL, but they are 13th against the run and that's what the Cowboys do better than anyone else in the NFL. Are the Vikings the team to stop the Dallas running attack? I'm going with no and I have the Vikings Defense/Special Teams as a SIT.
