It was a good match up that turned into an ugly Thursday night game as the Dallas Cowboys extended their winning streak to 11 games as they beat the Minnesota Vikings 17-15. The Cowboys improved to 11-1 with the win and if they get a couple of teams to lose this week they'll clinch a playoff spot. The Vikings dropped to 6-6 with the loss and are a 1 1/2 behind the Detroit Lions.
I'm thinking this isn't going to go well for me, but let's look and see how my Start/Sit picks worked out from yesterday's game.
Quarterback:
I had Dak Prescott as a START last night. Man was I wrong. Prescott threw for just 139 yards, but did throw a touchdown. Prescott ran the football 6 times for 37 yards, but lost a fumble and was sacked 3 times. Prescott scored 10.48 fantasy points which won't be much help this week.
Sam Bradford scored 11.44 fantasy points last night by throwing for 247 yards and a touchdown. Bradford also ran the football 2 times for 10 yards. Bradford was sacked 2 times. I had Bradford as a SIT and that looks like the place he should've been.
Running Back:
Is there even an option not to START Ezekiel Elliott? Elliott had 20 carries for 86 yards and a touchdown while catching 4 passes for 19 yards. I'm sure everyone started Elliott and that's where he belonged.
Matt Asiata carried the football 6 times for 30 yards and had receptions for -3 yards. Asiata also added 18 return yards and totaled 5.17 fantasy points. Asiata was a SIT for me last night and that was a good choice.
Jerick McKinnon had a solid night putting up 17.50 fantasy points last night. McKinnon had 41 yards on 9 carries and caught 5 passes for 14 yards and a touchdown. I had McKinnon as a SIT and while his numbers where very good for him and might be useful in a deep league I still think I got this one right.
Wide Receiver:
I've been all in on Dez Bryant and he was a START for me last night. Bryant was targeted 6 times and caught 4 passes for 84 yards and a touchdown. Bryant's 17.40 fantasy points will make him a god choice as I own him in two of my leagues.
Cole Beasley was a SIT last night for me and I got this right. Beasley scored just 3.80 fantasy points. Beasley was targeted 4 times catching 2 passes for 23 yards. Not a good night for Beasley.
Stefon Diggs returned from injury to play last night, but I wasn't sold on him and had him as a SIT. Diggs was targeted 8 times and caught all 8 of those passes, but for just 59 yards. Diggs scored 11.90 fantasy points last night; so I hope you didn't use him.
Adam Thielen scored 13 fantasy points last night. Thielen was targeted 9 times catching 7 passes for 86 yards and lost a fumble. Thielen also had -5 return yards. Thielen was the best Vikings receiver, but I hope you didn't play him.
I was interested in Cordarrelle Patterson last night, but not enough to start him. Patterson was targeted 3 times catching 2 passes for 10 yards. Patterson also had 2 rushing attempts for 6 yards and also had 80 return yards. Patterson was a SIT for me and his 5.20 fantasy points last night make that the right choice.
Tight End:
Jason Witten didn't have any type of stat line from last nights game. ) targets, 0 receptions, 0 yards equal 0 fantasy points. I had Witten as a SIT last night and looking at this I'm wondering if he was injured, but it was a good choice.
Kyle Rudolph was targeted a whopping 12 times, but caught just 6 of those targets for 45 yards. I had Rudolph as a SIT last night and his 9 fantasy points won't be a lot of help to you this week, but at least he put up something.
Defense/Special Teams:
I had the Dallas Defense/Special Teams as a START last night and they let me down. While they only gave up 15 points they didn't put up enough other stats to make them a good start. They ended up with 9.31 fantasy points for the night.
I didn't have any confidence in the Minnesota Defense/Special teams unit, but they put up 13.19 fantasy points last night. I had them as a SIT, but I think you'll be able to use them this week. They gave up 17 points had 3 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries and put up 86 return yards.
After seeing the score of this game I thought I was going to have a terrible week, but in the end my choices went 11-3. I hope you had the right players in your line up from last nights game and I hope the rest of Week 13 goes well for you.
