Wow; it's Week 14 TNF Start/Sit

On paper it looks like we've got a good match up for Thursday Night Football. It's the two top teams in the AFC West up against each other as the 10-2 Oakland Raiders are on the road against the 9-3 Kansas City Chiefs. Of course we all know by now that just because a game looks good doesn't mean it will be. Let's take a look and see who are the Start/Sit for tonight.

Derek Carr is an M.V.P. candidate with the way he's played. The Raiders are going to throw the football; so I think you go with Carr as a START.

Alex Smith is a difficult call. You just never know what you're going to get out of Smith. This of course makes him a tough play; so he's a SIT for me.

Running Back:

Oakland has looked as though they're trying to run the football more and that's good for Latavius Murray owners. I'm just not sold yet; so Murray is a SIT.

Spencer Ware has been solid and has the ability to have a big game, but is this that game? It's tough for me to be in on Ware this week; so I have him as a SIT.

Wide Receiver:

Amari Cooper is one of the best young receivers in the NFL. While he's the Raiders top offensive weapon and opponents know this he still gets his targets and catches. I have Cooper as a START.

Michael Crabtree could be the best #2 receiver in the NFL. Crabtree has 7 touchdown catches this season and fits this offense very well. I'm going with Crabtree as a START as well.

Jeremy Maclin is returning from injury for the first time since November 6th. Maclin was struggling before he got hurt; so I'm taking a wait and see approach with him. I have Maclin as a SIT.

Two weeks ago Tyreek Hill was a huge fantasy surprise. Last week Hill scored 11.43 fantasy points. Hill is used in the passing, rushing and return game; so he should get enough touches to make him a START.

Albert Wilson was the Chiefs surprise wide receiver in Week 13 scoring 20.80 fantasy points. With Maclin back I'm not sure you can count on Wilson; so I have him as a SIT tonight.

Tight End:

Clive Walford isn't a huge factor in the Raiders offense. Walford gets a little over 3 targets a week which makes him tough to use. I have Walford as a SIT tonight.

Travis Kelce is the Chiefs top receiver. Fantasy owners would like to see Kelce get into the end zone a little more, but he's still a START tonight.

Defense/Special Teams:

Oakland's Defense/Special Teams unit is one of the lower scoring in fantasy football. They are tied for 2nd in the league with 10 fumble recoveries, but that's the only stat they rank high in. SIT

Kansas City's Defense/Special Teams unit was big last week scoring 15.41 fantasy points. On average they are also the top scoring Defense/Special Teams this season. I'm taking a chance with this unit tonight as a START.

Please come back tomorrow and will see how these picks worked out for me. I hope you get off to a good start for Week 14 and as always thanks for taking the time to read this article.
