South Dakota - South Dakota CoyotesTheir are only two Division One athletic schools in South Dakota, and the Coyotes are the only team with a winning record, so it seems only right for them to be chosen here! |

Texas - Baylor BearsAs of right now, the Baylor Bears are the nation's top ranked team, according to the AP Poll. Baylor has had a fantastic 15-1 start to the 2016-17 season, and they have wins over Oregon, Michigan State, and Louisville.

Vermont - Vermont CatamountsAlthough they are the only D-1 school in Vermont, the Catamounts are actually having a decent year. Vermont has victories over Harvard and Yale and has a solid chance to compete for the American East Conference championship. |

Virginia - Virginia CavaliersHistorically, the Cavaliers have been one of the most consistent defensive teams in the ACC. They hadn't let a team score more than 61 points, until their recent loss to Pittsburgh. Virginia is going to be a tough out in March Madness. |

Washington - Gonzaga BulldogsThe Bulldogs have a really, really solid chance to go undefeated. So far, Gonzaga is 15-0 with wins over Arizona and Iowa State, and now that they're into conference play, the wins should be coming even faster. |

West Virginia - West Virginia MountaineersPress Virginia. That's the nickname for Bob Huggins' team. They press, and press, and press. Coming off of massive a win against top ranked Baylor, the Mountaineers are certainly one of the best, and most entertaining, teams in college basketball.

Wisconsin - Wisconsin BadgersAt 13-3, Wisconsin is sitting pretty atop the Big 10 conference. The Badgers, led by senior Nigel Hayes, are going to be one of the favorites to win their conference and make a deep run in March. |
