Stop and Smell the Roses
Each year seems to race by a little quicker than the last! Everyone is always in such a hurry to get somewhere or to do things! No one, it seems, takes the time to ‘stop and smell the roses’ any more!
Stop and Smell the Roses is a saying that has been around a long time but it still has importance! With all the electronics: computers, laptops, tablets, cell phones, etc., people don’t even take time for each other, much less to stop and smell the roses! How many of us even use the phone to talk to each other any more. There is more texting than talking. Then there are the social networks such as Facebook where everyone posts where they are, where they are going, what they are doing and with whom! And the saddest part of all is not only do we not have time for each other, but too many times we don’t have time for God!
Every day we wake up, is a gift from God, our Father! Each day has 24 hours in it. That is 24 hours with opportunity to be a blessing, to receive blessings and to fellowship with The One who created us in His own image! God has His Plan for each of us and it is up to us to talk to Him; listen to Him; fellowship with Him and follow the paths and guidance of the Holy Spirit. I talk to my Daddy all day long as I go about doing my daily duties. I ask the Holy Spirit to guide and lead me along the right paths daily and most of all I LISTEN! I have learned not to jump into something, but to pray about it first and see what my Daddy says!
So, no matter how busy your life is, please take time to Stop and Smell the Roses each day and make the time to fellowship with your Daddy!
