A large crowd of surf fans are on the beach to watch surfers in Portugal at Supertubos. The European event location for the upcoming Rip Curl Beach Festival - Surfing Contest held in conjunction with The World Surf League which is a major organisation body of, the international professional surfing tour. At present the World Championship Tour events have been contested in France and now the tour has made it's way to Portugal in Europe. The season climax will be held in Hawaii in December, 2016 and at present surfers John John Florence from Hawaii, Gabriel Media - Brazil and Australian Matt Wilkinson, are some of the men who are at the top of the current ratings leader board and are surfers who have a chance to be crowned Men's 2016 World Surf League Champion.
Congratulations to female surfer Tyler Wright the new 2016 Women's World Surf League Champion from Australia who was crowned just recently, in France at the last event The Quicksiver Pro.
Fingers crossed that the Men's WSL championship decider will be decided in Hawaii, what is the ultimate arena for contest surfing. Hawaii is home to some of the biggest waves on the planet.
