The new 2017 World Surf League season is due to begin next month and all eyes will be on last years 2016 winner John John Florence from Hawaii to see if he can claim back to back title wins this year. The first event of the new season will begin with the Quicksilver / Roxy Pro at Snapper Rocks on the Gold Coast of Queensland, Australia.
Some other surfers with their eyes on the championship and looking to claim a world title victory this year include Jordy Smith from South Africa, Julian Wilson from Australia and Gabriel Medina from Brazil who could push John John Florence in his world title defence.
