Get to know me.

Get to know me.

Jul 12, 2016, 2:10:16 PM Life and Styles

Before I dive into posts about travel and lifestyle, I thought I'd do a little get to know me post. I have one of these on my personal blog (kathrynfirth.wordpress.com) from a few months ago, but I know some of these answers have definitely changed since then so I thought I'd do a new one. Here goes..

1. What is your middle name?
Forever and always my least favorite question: Frances.

2. What was favorite subject at school?
I should say music, but actually it was English. My English teacher in my final two years of school was so great and enthusiastic. I came unbelievably close to doing an English degree, but decided on music in the end.

3. What is your favorite drink?
Tea. What a Brit I am.

4. What is your favorite song at the moment?
Right. I can never answer this question. Current favorites change almost every day, but I have a couple of long-term favorites: Robbers by The 1975 and Is There Somewhere by Halsey.

5. What is your favorite food?
Let's be real. Peanut butter. I gave it up for Lent this year and it was genuinely the most horrific time.

6. What is the last thing you bought?
I don't think paying for my laundry counts here, so it was a cocktail at the 5sos gig at Xfinity Center Mansfield on Saturday night.

7. Favorite book of all time?
Easily The Great Gatsby. Easily. I read this for the first time when I was 17 and re-read it a few times a year. Actually, I haven't read it for a few months, so maybe it's time again..!

8. Favorite Color?
Yellow. Which is ironic as the majority of my wardrobe is actually black or navy..

9. Do you have any pets?
My family have a hamster called Peppa, and we have fish too (mine's called Neil). But I'm never there to see them. However, in the USA, I'm the proud aunt (?) of a hamster called Toph. I walk around the apartment with her as if she's my own child.

10. Favorite Perfume?
I usually love anything by Marc Jacobs. Recently, I've been wearing Daisy Dream from him, but also an Elie Saab perfume I picked up at the airport in January.

11. Favorite Holiday?
Like, public holiday, or vacation? Because if we're talking public holidays, I'm saying July 4th. I experienced my first one last week and I loved it. I had a glittery American flag painted on my face and everything

12. Are you married?
Hahahahahaha. Nope.

13. Have you ever been out of the country, if so how many times?
I've been out of England plenty of times. Take now for example, I live in MA, USA.

14. Do you speak any other language?
I can speak French. I haven't had to for a while, but I can totally get by when I'm there. I'm also currently learning Italian.

15. How many siblings do you have?
Two. Both sisters, and both younger.

16. What is your favorite shop?
Um, I don't actually know. Probably Boden (originally a British company, but over the past few years they've branched into America). I don't buy from there very often, but when I do, it's staple pieces that last me such a long time. If we're talking classic high-street, it's going to be Forever 21. I think most of my wardrobe is from there!

17. Favorite restaurant?
Dependent on my country. In the UK, there's a great little Thai restaurant in the town where I live owned by a Thai couple and it's the best Thai I've ever eaten. Here in Amherst, I love the Vietnamese restaurant in town, Miss Saigon.

18. When was the last time you cried?
I'm not actually sure. Since finishing school for the summer, I seem to have a much better hold on my emotions..

19. Favorite Blog?
I honestly don't think I could pick one (I'm constantly coming across new blogs every day).

20. Favorite Movie?
Anything Disney, to be honest. I love love love The Little Mermaid and Lilo & Stitch (my life goal is actually to hula dance with Lilo and Stitch..).

21. Favorite TV shows?
I tend to watch Netflix more than anything else. On there, I love Kimmy Schmidt, I've made my way through Friends, Gossip Girl and I'm halfway through Pretty Little Liars. I also love How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory. In the UK, I love Downton Abbey and a show called Drifters (it made me cry with laughter every week). Ooh, and a show called Gogglebox - my friend and I were seriously debating being on there for a while..

22. PC or Mac?
I was always a PC girl, but I moved to America and bought a Mac. Probably the best decision I've made for a while.

23. What phone do you have?
iPhone 6.

24. How tall are you?
A solid 5ft 10inches. Pretty tall for a British girl..

25. Can you cook?
Yes I can & I love it, I feel totally at ease in the kitchen. On Friday, I made a Mexican feast for my parents and friends and was actually complemented on it..
