Ahead of the World Environment Day on June 5, 2018, the United Nations released a report stating multiple alternatives to single-use plastic. The United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) talked about environment conservation by highlighting the one big fact we’ve been dodging for a long time.

The report mentioned that synthetic biopolymers, natural fibers and other products can help reduce the impact of plastic littering. Daily life biodegradable products that can be used to replace plastic were mentioned in the report. Using bamboo pulp straws instead of plastic, using toothbrushes made of wood and other similar solutions were a part of the report.
