Kylie Jenner Inspired Makeup

I guess i'm on a Kylie kick right now but I mean come on, she has by far the best makeup in hollywood. I've been noticing that she hasn't been doing a harsh black liquid eye liner lately and has been doing a soft smudged black eyeshadow instead. So I really wanted to recreate that.

It's a really easy look to do, the fact that it requires tape makes all the difference. You don't have to be perfectly precise to get a nice liner because even if you go outside the lines or mess us the tape is there to keep your line underneath very clean.

You don't need to use any of the same products that I used to create this look but i'm going to insert them anyways just for those who are curious or want to try these exact products!

First things first, get your face makeup on. I started with my Nyx Studio Perfect Photo Loving Primer, then went in with my Revlon Colorstay Foundation in 240 Medium Beige. Waited for that to dry a bit then went in with my Revlon Colorstay Concealer in 02 Light.

I use my beauty blender to buff in all my foundations and concealers. To set my foundation and concealer I use Rimmel Stay Matte Translucent Powder, I don't put it all over my entire face I just put it everywhere I'm not going to be putting bronzer or blush. I do that just because I don't want to be piling on unnecessary powder. I want to avoid looking cakey at all costs.

I slightly contoured my face with the colour Sombre from the Kat Von D Shade + Light palette. Then went in with Benefits Hoola bronzer to lighten up my face. I used Nars blush in Gaiety. Next is eyebrows, I don't do anything too complicated, (i'm going to do a post on my eyebrow routine soon.) I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow in Soft Brown. Now the face is done and onto the eyes.

Placement of the tape is what I had to practice the most when i've done this look in the past. You don't want it at too steep of an angle. I lay it so it's pretty much in line with my lower lash line, making sure it's not meeting up with my eyebrows as I find that's too steep for my face and the liner doesn't look right. I'm not using any eyeshadow for my lids, i'm using contour colours only, Shadowplay from the Kat Von D Shade + Light palette all over the lid, and Sombre from the same palette in my crease. Make sure you're blending the colours right up to the tape so you'll get a nice clean line once you pull it off.

Next we're going to go in  with the colour Creep from the Urban Decay Naked Palette. I'm using a really small gel eyeliner brush so that I can get the control I need. This colour was awesome to use because it's not the blackest black but it is buildable and left me with the really soft effect I was going for, really easy to blend.

Then I carefully pulled the tape off and added some mascara! I use Covergirl Lashblast Volume in Blackest Black. I used Kylie Cosmetics Dolce K lipliner on my lips and put Mac's Lipglass in Love Child on top.

And we're done!

I love this look and it's honestly all i've been doing on my eyes when i've wanted a more dramatic look this past month. It's nice to have a break from the really dark harsh lines from a liquid liner but you still get a really pretty cat-eye effect.
