Dear beloved brothers and sisters,

I want you to know something. Jesus loves you all!

Yes, it is true. We all struggle at times with certain sins in our lives. For believers, it is often easy to conclude that God is angry or mad at us because we have fallen and keep falling time and time again. The truth is that Jesus died on the cross for all your sins – past, present, and future.

What does this mean? It means that you have been forgiven and have been made righteous through Christ. You now live under grace that comes through believing in Christ as your Lord and Savior. Even when you sin, God forgives you immediately.

Am I advocating for continual sinning in our lives? No, I am not. According to Hebrews 10: 26, continual and deliberate sinning yet you have knowledge of the truth will get you in big trouble with God on the Day of Judgment. If you are living this way without confessing or fighting the sin through faith, you will suffer the consequences.

But what we need to realize is that we should never allow our sins to make us feel rejected by God. If you are struggling with sin in your life, do not run away from God thinking that He is condemning you for being weak and unworthy. This is what most people do. They sin, feel unworthy of God’s love, and begin to believe the devil’s lies that God is angry at them. The natural reaction is then to give up on God and fall back to the sinful ways.

We need to understand that God is graceful and merciful. He will never leave us nor forsake us. Those periods when you fall into sin and stumble into dark places, those are the times to run towards the light of Jesus. People who understand grace know that the blood of Jesus covered everything, and therefore, they no longer struggle on their own to overcome sin. They lean wholeheartedly on God and embrace His grace. This is the only way to overcome sin.

Yes, it is very important to confess your sins. However, confess your sin to God knowing that you have ALREADY BEEN FORGIVEN! You are not asking or begging for forgiveness. You already have it. All you are doing now is talking to your Heavenly Father about your struggles, and asking for mercy and grace to endure – to fight the good fight of faith.

As a child of God, do not ever think that when you sin, you are left on your own and can no longer approach God. In fact, that is when you need Him the most. Even if you feel separated from God, just know that those are just feelings, and you cannot put your trust in feelings. Christ is holding on to you tighter than ever because He knows you are in a vulnerable position then. You may not feel it but He is always with you.

Even when you feel like letting go of Jesus, He will never let you go. When you feel like you are falling and all alone, He is holding you in His arms. Fight the good fight of faith by keeping your eyes fixed on the cross of Christ and His finished works. We were never meant to overcome sin on our own. It is impossible. But if you take hold of the grace of God and keep the faith in Christ, you will discover that those sins that plagued you no longer have room in your life anymore.

We only feel condemned when we forget just how much we are loved! GOOD NEWS. GOOD NEWS. GOOD NEWS. JESUS LOVES YOU!
