"The fountain of content must spring up in the mind, and he who hath so little knowledge of human nature as to seek happiness by changing anything but his own disposition, will waste his life in fruitless efforts and multiply the grief he proposes to remove." ~ Samuel Johnson.
We cannot control what others do or say.
We can control our ourselves, our actions, reactions and attitudes.
Not always easy.
We cannot control if or when it will rain.
We cannot control markets.
We can control our business and we can make choices that enable us to overcome challenges.
We cannot control banks, land values, governments, the economy or the weather.
We have full control over our own decisions, attitudes and actions.
Our focus must be on what we can control. That is what will get us through tough times.
When we focus on external factors that we cannot control our stress and anxiety levels increase dramatically and we feel helpless.
Focus on what we can control, and we reduce those stress levels.
We can make deliberate changes in our lives to focus on self, what we can control and this impacts our level of happiness and content.
