I just finished reading The Shack and it took me a long time to read it. I have mixed emotions about the book nevertheless, I like it and it was worth the time. So here are some of the lines that I simply can live by.
I suppose that since most of our hurts come through relationships so will our healing, and I know that grace rarely makes sense for those looking in from the outside.
There is something joyful about storms that interrupt routine. Snow or freezing rain suddenly releases you from expectations, performance demands, and the tyranny of appointments and schedules.
"Life takes a bit of time and a lot of relationship."
"You, on the other hand, were created to be loved. So for you to live as if your were unloved is a limitation, not the other way around."
"You don't play a game or color a picture with a child to show your superiority. Rather, you choose to limit yourself to facilitate and honor that relationship. You will even lose a competition to accomplish love."
"Once you begin to know the being behind the very pretty or very ugly face, as determined by your bias, the surface appearances fade away until they no longer matter."
"The person who lives by their fears will not find freedom in my love."
"Her love is much stronger than your fault could ever be."
"It is not the nature of love to force a relationship but it is the nature of love to open the way."
"Don't ever discount the wonder of your tears. They can be healing waters and stream of joy. Sometimes they are the best words the heart can speak."
