Hello, 2017!

Hello, 2017!

Jan 21, 2017, 10:36:10 PM Life and Styles

There's something about a new year that always makes me feel invigorated and though I never truly appreciated it when I was younger, I've been setting goals to help me stay in the right direction through out the year.

Even if 2016 was truly an eventful year, I felt so unaccomplished because I wasn't able to fulfill some of the more specific goals I set out. Still, I am grateful for everything that happened and as I said in my previous post, I look forward to more personal accomplishments this 2017.

Thus, this 2017, I'd like to share with everyone the new and more specific things I am planning to accomplish this 2017. So here's my 2017 New Year's Resolutions:

  1. Be More Financially Stable - Last year's Sarcoma Surprise made me realize that though I was earning, I was not stable. I'm lucky that earlier in the year I started being more serious about saving and I have family members able to help with my medical bills. This year, I'm hoping I won't be much of a burden with my family members by financially preparing for what may come. Plus, I have a lot of plans to make this year awesome. Thus, I'll try to accomplish the 12-month savings challenge and I'll be sharing my progress through through this blog.
  2. Read! Read! Read! - I used to be an avid reader. I was the type of person that could easily feel comfortable in any situation as long as there was a book and a chair in a corner somewhere. However, most of the books I've read in the past 3 years are more related to work rather than my own personal interest! Thus, this year, I've decided to complete Hannah Braime's 2017 Reading Challenge. I'm going for the 26 books (1 book every 2 weeks) and will be using this blog to share my thoughts. You can read my own personal mechanics here.
  3. Travel and Culture Bug - Wina and I used to watch You've Got Mail all the time and finally seeing New York last November made me fall in love with the thought of going back and walking around the city once again. Plus, all the performances I watched last year made me realize what I was missing. For this year, I'm planning to consciously spend on travel and cultural experiences instead of non-quality food and hobbies that won't really help me in the long term. I'm planning to creatively share these moments by making video highlights of my travels and posting them here.

Just writing all of my goals for this year made me feel so excited and I look forward to a more productive year.

Wish me luck!
