The Value Is in the Journey

The Value Is in the Journey

I’ve learned that fear limits you and your vision. It serves as blinders to what may be just a few steps down the road for you. The journey is valuable, but believing in your talents, your abilities, and your self-worth can empower you to walk down an even brighter path. Transforming fear into freedom – how great is that? ~ Soledad O’Brien

So many of us go through this life with sunglasses on because we are too afraid to have our eyes burned by the sun. The problem with that is that we are looking at the wrong place. We should never be looking at the sun because our eyes will get burnt. We should be looking around at what the sun has an effect on. Because of the sun we have beautiful flowers, green grass, days that allow us to have a cool refreshing drink of lemonade.

As is with our journey on this road of chronic pain, we need to stop looking at the pain and focusing always on the pain. We need to see the big picture. There is a big picture you say? Yes, there is a big picture.

You have the opportunity to be able to better someone else’s life by the journey that you are on. Your days may be very hard and the only thing that you can do is to make it to the couch. When you are having those days, it is a wonderful opportunity to be able to go online and find people who may need help and give them a word of encouragement. If you are a spiritual person - you can offer up prayers for those people who are struggling - people that you don’t even know. Your prayers will go a very long way.

So many of us decide to give up living because we can no longer have the kind of quality of lifestyle that we had at one point. We must never get to a point that we give up hope and Faith. There is always something that we can do. And when we find that something, our lives become better and more rich because of it.
