While using your Android smartphone as the sole source of your computer or tablet to get online, it's probably less preferable than getting a DSL, cable or a dedicated hotspot device— it's time to turn your Android phone into a hotspot and works as an Internet Router.
Today in this post we're looking to create an Android hotspot, a mobile hotspot with your Android phone.
Setup a mobile hotspot on Android:
We'll keep this super simple. The truth is if you run Android stock, or something near it, you've probably seen the hotspot button on your device sometime.
Especially since it landed in the Quick Settings section of the Android Lollipop notification shade and has been there since then.
While the Quick Settings button is the fastest and easiest way to switch on and off your mobile hotspot, you will want to take a moment to set things up before you use them.
Go to your main system Settings.
Tap the More button at the bottom of the Wireless & networks section, right below Data usage.
Open Tethering and portable hotspot.
Tap on Set up Wi-Fi hotspot.
Enter the name of the network. That 's what you might know as your SSID, and it's visible to everyone around you, so have fun, but don't be raw. Let's use today " They'reWatching. " You can check out more Cool Network Names For your mobile hotspot.
Note that it is not a good idea to include special characters, such as my apostrophe, in your network name, despite my bad humor above, but it will still work for most devices.
Choose a type of security. I highly recommend WPA2 AES (or PSK if AES is not available), but you can choose None if you want to give anybody nearby the internet.
Enter a password provided you made the secure choice above. This is the password that you must enter on all your other devices and give to your friends and family if you ever let them connect. Again, it may not be a good idea to be crude.
Great news, the hard part is over, now you just have to turn the service on and you're ready to go.
If you have any question or facing any issue while setting up your hotspot name then let us know in the comment section.
