3 DIY scrubs that you need to try

Hello, Green beauties! In this post I want to talk with you about the number one hack that you need to try in your skin looks grey and dull: scrub!

Skin exfoliation, whether you have it monthly, weekly or even multiple time a week, is an indispensable step in your skin care routine to ensure glowy clear skin.

The cosmetic world offers you a lot of choice in this department but, to be honest, scrubs are the easiest and cheaper thing to concoct at home. It has always seemed weird to me to spend 10 bucks or more for a store-bought product when you can mix 2-3 ingredients in a pot and make a good scrub at home with less than a quarter of the price.

So, here's some suggestions to create yourself a natural and effective scrub, or three.

First of all, what scrubs are made of?

Scrubs are made of small particles that physically remove dead skin layers when you rub them on the skin. It's up to you to choose the intensity of the treatment if you rub vigorously you gonna have a deep exfoliation if you apply your product on the skin with a gentle massage your scrub results more delicate. Though, if you have super sensitive, reactive or damaged skin physical exfoliators might not be the best choice for you.

Scrub recipe #1:  Honey-lemon Sugar Scrub

  • 2 tsp o honey
  • 2 tsp of sugar
  • 3-4 drops of vegetable oil
  • 1 174 of tsp of lemon juice

Mix everything together and gently rub the mixture on the skin. Rinse off

Scrub recipe #2: Coffee scrub

cameff_1489077140964.pngThis is an old-time favourite (read a specific post here) that I have slightly reformulated

  • 2 tsp of grounded coffee beans
  • 3 tsp of your favourite vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp of Rhassoul clay
  • 1/4 tsp of glycerine

Same procedure, mix everything together and apply on the face with a gentle massage. Rince off.

Scrub recipe #3: Salty Mojito Body

cameff_1489077350738.pngThis concoction is targeted for body care and it's a good cheap alternative to commercial products that, most of the times, use the very same ingredients of this DIY but cost ten times more. I have included some essential oils, but this last step it's totally unnecessary especially if you prefer unscented body care products.

  • 1/2 cup of fine crystal salts
  • 1/2 cup of coarse crystal salts
  • 1 cup of vegetable oil
  • 5 drops of lemon essential oil
  • 5 drops of peppermint essential oil

Mix everything together and apply on the face with a gentle massage. Rince off.

Are you a scrub addicted like me?!
