I agree with the sentiments of Susan Sontag, just one of my favorite writers, who said that she writes in order to understand the world. Since five years old I have been trying to comprehend the ways of the world, and, like Susan Sontag, I expect to be writing everyday until my breath becomes air.
I am a beginning fiction writer - and a nonfiction writer since I was five years old. I have written book reviews, labor history, women's history, politics, the environment and nearly every subject (except science) so I can begin to understand how the world turns. I am a California native, growing up in Los Angeles and then living in San Francisco and in Sonoma County for several decades. Once again, I am near the beach in Los Angeles where I expect to remain.
Currently I am a book discussion facilitator at the Santa Monica Public Library and a grandmother of two beautiful granddaughters.
To support myself as a writer, I have had a myriad of jobs: administrative assistant at the City and County of San Francisco, Union officer and Union representative.
