Project Veritas released yet another batch of information recently regarding their undercover investigation of the popular social media site Twitter. On Thursday, January 11, 2018, Project Veritas released a chilling video about the potential bias of "shadow banning" conservatives or those with opposing liberal views on Twitter's social media platform. Former Twitter software engineer Abhinav Vadrevu on shadow banning: “they just think that no one is engaging with their content when in reality, no one is seeing it.”

Last year Twitter received a tempered level of backlash after deleting Twitter accounts of popular influential conservative-leaning public figures such as Milo Yiannopoulos and Roger Stone after they expressed certain opinions that were disliked by the platform. It seems Twitter continues to completely ban or shadow ban users who express certain political opinions or ideologies. In the recent Project Veritas video According to Steven Pierre, Twitter engineer explains “shadow banning,” says “it’s going to ban a way of talking.”  It seems the increasing invasion of privacy of users, user censorship, and data mining poses a serious threat to preserving the individual security of users and dangerous assault to freedom of speech of those who participate on the most popular social media platforms.

Twitter and other social media websites are private companies thus their terms of service are drafted to preference by these companies and not subjected legislative laws and regulations at this time as utility companies are. However, with the increasing number of users in modern times communicating through digital technology some are beginning to question if government oversite or further open policy transparency is needed of these large social media corporations, such as Twitter. Perhaps some form of legislative intervention would be beneficial in potentially protecting users against data overreach and securing the ability of users to engage in free speech on digital social media platforms.

Now Project Veritas led by James O'keffe continues to expose Twitter with yet another video apart of an investigative serious that outlines Twitter's disturbing pervy behavior of sorting though sex messages and private dm's of their users.
