Vocational Training Programs For People With Disability

No matter what the job is, a person needs to have a sufficient amount of knowledge and training on the subject. There are various training programs available that equip the candidates with all the necessary skills they need to have an excelling career in a particular field. But this training is not readily available to people with disabilities. Most of the vocational training centers don’t accept people with disabilities because they don’t have the resources or the faculty that can cater to the needs of people with disabilities.

Even though disabled people constitute a significant percentage of the population in India, the job opportunities for them still remain remarkably low. They face many challenges in finding the appropriate training and employment opportunities.

Government and non-profit organizations have developed various programs for people with disabilities. These programs are specially designed to cater to the needs of people with disabilities.

ARISE+ (All Round Improvement in class Education for youngsters with Disabilities )

Tech Mahindra Foundation has introduced this program for the differently-abled children between the ages of 3-18 years who are studying in government schools. The program assists them in becoming confident and determined adults.

Under this program, TMF supports various organizations that are working for the education of differently-abled children across the country.

By providing students with guidance and helping them meet their needs, TMF aims at making differently-abled students become a part of mainstream education. The program also counsels and educates the families of these students and sensitizes them on different issues.

The main focus of the inspiration under this program are

  • early detection of disabilities in children
  • support within the education of youngsters with disabilities and leveraging assistive technology
  • counseling for folks, teachers, and other caregivers with techniques to require care of youngsters with special needs

Various organizations across the country are working to provide people with disabilities the vocational training that’ll help them have an excelling career in the field of their choice.

It’s about time that people become sensitive towards disabled people and provide them equal opportunity in every field. This can only be achieved if everyone, on the individual level stops the discrimination against disabled people and treat them with the respect they deserve.
