Enjoying the glorious weather we are so lucky to still have at this time of year, Max and I went to the local park. There we came across a squirrel.
At first Max tried to talk to it.
Then he tried to catch it.
The squirrel kept running round this bin for a minute or two, before making it’s escape.
Max wondered off towards the little cafe located in the park.
En route, I noticed autumn had arrived.
As we approached the cafe, Max started to grin as he knew what was coming next…
Blue ice cream!
After a little while, we decided to head home. The park has many entrances and exits, so on this particular day, I chose a different one to the one we normally use, and came across this.
Turns out to be what was left of a fountain erected in 1872 which was ‘damaged irreparably during the Blitz’. It was so sad to read the Civilian Memorial part.
As we moved further to the exit, Max spotted this and asked me what it was. It’s quite hard to explain to a three year old that it’s a quote by the late Maya Angelou, so I told him I would explain later. I knew he would have forgotten all about it by then, because to be honest, I really didn’t know what to say!
