There is an account in Mark 2 where Jesus heals a man sick of the palsy. In verse 12 the man stands up, takes his bed and walks away. At the end of the verse it says, “They were all amazed and glorified God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!” (NET)
Too often when we have an encounter with God we come away saying we had a nice time or maybe even a wonderful time. If that is all we can say then we have not really met the God of Creation, the One who brought the heavens and the earth into being, the One who created and watches over me.
Every time we meet Him, our jaw should drop and we should stand amazed by His awesome power. There should be miracles every time we come before Him. We should walk away with the feeling that our meeting with Him was so awe inspiring that nothing like that could ever happen again. If we do we must keep in mind that no matter what He has just done, He is totally capable and willing to do something even more marvellous. “This is the LORD’S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.” (Psalms 118:23, KJV)
