Lately we have been having a lot of dark mornings. My body and mind do not like dark mornings. I find it very difficult to get up and get myself going when it is dark. Summer mornings are bad enough, but in winter when it is cloudy and still dark at 8 am, the inner me argues when I try to get up.
Spiritually the same thing can happen. The world around us may seem dark and we find it difficult to get ourselves out of that spiritual rut. We let the darkness of the enemy overshadow the light of God that is in us. That is when we need to confess Micah 7:8. “Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.” (KJV) No matter how many times the enemy tries to knock me down, I am determined that I will always get up. No matter how dark the enemy has made my surroundings, I need to remember that God is my light and He can and will make that darkness disappear.
