I had a friend once who decided to eat fresh garlic every day. He claimed it was good for his health. A short while after the onset of this venture a problem arose. Whenever he entered a room, the smell of garlic came with him. The smell of garlic began to emanate from his pores. When we eat a lot of one thing, it causes changes within our bodies that are evident to those around us.
It’s not only the foods we eat that can emanate from our bodies. The spiritual things that we put into our bodies will eventually become evident in our lives. Our spiritual diet will make a definite difference in our lives. In Philippians 4:8 we are told, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” (KJV) If those are the things that we continually put into our spirit, that is what we will become. To become like Christ, we need to put in the things that are of Him.
