There are many things in this world that can cause us worry. Most of us run into some of them every day. The majority of them are small, but every so often something happens that really tries to steal our peace. It can be simply a bump in the road or it can upset our lives for weeks on end, sometimes even longer.
To find lasting peace in our world today can be difficult. Jesus offers us an option. In John 14:27 Jesus says “Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid.” (Good News) In a world of turmoil, Jesus is the one to whom we can turn to find peace.
To find His peace we need to turn our lives and all the things that worry us over to Him. If we just turn over our worries, we will soon find something new to worry about. That is why we need to turn our lives over to Him also. With Him in control, worries will disappear.
