Wow, Kat Von D has stepped it up with her Everlasting Liquid Lipstick ($20/0.22 oz.) glamour babes. I remember trying her liquid lipstick when her line first launched and I was a big fan. The matte formulation at the time applied unevenly, patchy, and dried into a crumbly mess to the point where it had to be removed. Not anymore, Kat Von D reformulated all of her cosmetics not only making them cruelty free, but vegan friendly too! Hooray! Now everyone can try em and love em! I decided to give Ms. Von D's Everlasting Liquid Lipstick a second chance because of the revamping of her line, and I saw that she released a limited edition shade called project chimps to help save the chimps one lipstick at a time!
For every Project Chimps Limited Edition lipstick sold, 20% of the retail price will go to Project Chimps, a nonprofit organization that has worked to stop the use of chimps in private biomedical research and retire them to a sanctuary. I think in this day and age we should no longer test on animals, it isn't necessary, it is cruel and in humane. Long story short, I wanted to support her cause and make a difference, I love animals and every bit of support counts. I also tossed two more shades into the cart (Nosferatu, and Outlaw) for the free mini liquid liner in Wolfie, and to save on shipping costs.
Plus, these shades of red are perfect for fall, change is in the air, I could feel it!
Project Chimps- is a warm brick red that has been lip tested, and chimp approved!
A little goes a long way with these liquid lipsticks, the colors are very opaque, and they do not cake, crumble, feather or crack once applied, huge thumbs up to that. However, you will need to use a baby wipe or makeup remover to remove the color off the lips, the staying power of these liquid lipsticks are that tough to take off alone, Kat Von D don't play.
Formulated without parabens, the infusion of natural ingredients, including vitamin E and sunflower seed wax keep lips snug as a bug in a rug when wearing these color rich lipsticks.
Project Chimps, Nosferatu, and Outlaw provide long lasting wear up to eight hours or possibly longer. I got up to an 8 hour wear and I was able to do the following just like Kat Von D's website said I could do, lol; "You can eat, drink, make up, break up and mouth-off knowing your lips are gonna stay flawless through it all!" And they most certainly did boys and gals! My lips persevered through everything, including my sailor mouth, lol.
Giving Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks a second chance was totally worth supporting the cause, and I'm glad I did. I do think the makeup industry as a whole, not just the cruelty free companies should become more involved in non-profit organizations for their cosmetics, and put an end to animal cruelty. Wouldn't it be more enriching to know what/where our money is going towards?! With Kat Von D you do! How rewarding does that feel?! So, let's support the cause and help her save some chimps! Your lips and the chimps will thank you.
Stay beautiful! Xo.
