I’m making great progress on the pre-editing of draft 2. Sometimes it feels like pre-editing is a reboot of my first couple of chapters. I’ve been lagging on my post. Hopefully, that ends since I’m on spring break. Here’s a peek at what I’m working on. This is taken from the new version of chapter 5
“Layla, where have you been?” he called out to her. She stopped and faced him.
“Sorry, I was out.” She continued to dry herself. Once he saw the water dripping from her hair and dress, he started to get uneasy.
“You were with him. You’re drenched and so was he.”
“I ran into Leon. We talked, we played-”
“And you think that’s okay? You’re a Princess and he’s-”
“My friend! Have you forgotten that this is my home?!?”
“I’m trying to help you!”
“You are trying to tighten your grip on a Princess! I will not stand for this!” Layla’s last words struck Groff deeply. Not that he found himself afraid of Layla. But that fact that she challenged him.
By chapter 7, things will resume how the original chapters were. With a few changes of course.
Hang on tight, we’re writing something great.
