Friendship is more than just an association. It is a mutual affection between two people, an interpersonal bond. With any friendship they bring support, love and intermittent strife. Having a strong bond with people that allow you to express yourself freely and be who you really are, is so important in life.
We all have or have had a group of people or a person who we are connected with, who we call our second family, who love and support us every day. It is these kinds of people that help shape who we are, encourage us to step out of our comfort zones and try new things and who show us a different kind of support in life. These people, pick us up when we are down, tell us to dust ourselves off, hand us a glass of wine without questions and guide us on the path forward, walking along side us the whole way. I have someone like this in my life and I tell you what, i don’t know what I would do without them!
For real, having someone that listens to your struggles, helps find a solution and at times just sits and listens without saying a word before, during or after is a blessing. One that I hope all of you have in your lives honeys.
A friend who knows when there is a time for silence, a time to let go and allow you to make mistakes in life, pulls you back from making bad choices that will cause destruction and also prepares to pick up the pieces no matter how many times they have done so already, is a true friend. I am lucky to have this in my life.
Although our worlds become busy, time is limited and we are both doing different things, that is no excuse to lose connection, our bond or our friendship all together. Friendship takes time, patience, trust, loyalty and effort. If you don’t have those things then you don’t have friendship. I believe friendship consists of these values and it is why mine has continued it’s strength throughout the 6 years.
Find that person or those people in your life honey, hold on to them, guide them, help them grow and most importantly never give up on them. When it comes down to it those connections are at times the source of our strength.
‘True friendship multiplies the good in life and divides its evils. Strive to have friends, for life without friends is like a life on a desert island. To find one real friend in a lifetime is good fortune; to keep them is a blessing’ – Baltasar Gracian
I hope you enjoyed. Until next time.
