What is a Project Manager?

Project managers are responsible for planning and monitoring projects to ensure they are completed in a timely manner and on budget. Project managers plan and designate project resources, prepare budgets, monitor progress, and keep stakeholders informed throughout the process. All of this is done within the limits of a company's goals and vision. Project managers are required on a wide variety of projects, including construction, IT, human resources, and marketing.

Project managers generally must have a bachelor's degree in computer science or business, as well as several years of experience in the relevant line of work with increasing responsibility. Many project managers choose to earn a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Responsibilities: 

Coordinate with members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure that all parties are up to date with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules.

Meeting with members of the project team to identify and solve problems.

Manage customer satisfaction during the transition period of the project. 

Conduct a post-project evaluation and identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.


Skills: 

Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or a connected field.

Project Management skilled (PMP) certification is most popular.

Demonstrated ability to unravel issues creatively.

Strong familiarity with project management software package tools, methodologies, and best practices.

Experience viewing comes throughout the complete life cycle.
