Just because fate doesn’t deal you the right cards, it doesn’t mean you should give up. It just means you have to play the cards you get to their maximum potential.
~Les Brown
Moaning and groaning about the cards we have been dealt in life is only human nature. After all, we sometimes look around and see others with seemingly much better hands than ours. Rather than take the cards we have and then play them for all theyre worth, we sometimes fold; figuring that the good life is just not in the cards for us.
It may surprise you that the most successful people on earth felt exactly that same way at one time or another. But these champions didnt fold their hands; not at all. As a matter of fact, they took the cards life had dealt them and then aggressively played them with every ounce of energy and electrically charged enthusiasm they could generate. By giving life their very best shot and holding absolutely nothing back, they were able to determine their own fates and so should you.
I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soul.
~William Ernest Henley
Regardless of whether you realize it or not, you indeed are the master of your fate on earth. You and only you get to decide how high you ultimately reach and how far you eventually fly. As Franklin D. Roosevelt once said, Men are not prisoners of fate, but only prisoners of their own minds.
How about you? Have you ever held yourself back, allowing outside influences to govern your life adventure dictating your direction and destination? Instead of assuming full control of where you’re going and how you are going to get there, have you ever submitted to forces supposedly beyond your control? Im sure you have; we all have on occasion. But that was then and this is now. Its time to employ what we call the Twists of Fate.
There is no chance, no destiny, no fate, that can hinder or control the firm resolve of a determined soul.
~Ella Wheeler Wilcox
Your fate in life has a lot more to do with how you play your cards than it does with the cards you’ve been dealt. You can take control of your destiny by taking command of your fate. And you can take control of your fate by boldly taking the gifts, talents and abilities you have been blessed with and putting them to full use today.
Dont hold anything back; be sure to play your cards for everything they’re worth. When you do, you’ll find out that they are worth the world to you. A world of adventure, a world of excitement, a world you’ve imagined yourself living at least a thousand times.
I do not know beneath what sky nor on what seas shall be thy fate; I only know it shall be high, I only know it shall be great.
~Richard Hovey
Instead of casting your fate with the wind, why not take the cards you’re holding and make something happen something exciting, something wild, something so outrageous that it turns your life completely around? Why not take the hand you’re holding and then twist it, tweak it and turn it completely around or even upside down thereby forging and fashioning a fabulous destiny equal to your dreams?
Hey, this is no time for hemming and hawing. You need to throw your entire heart and soul into the effort, playing those cards like the riverboat gambler. Rather than leave your fate up for grabs, subject to chance or circumstance, you need to give it all you’ve got every single day. When you get in the healthy habit of laying it all on the line daily, fate will soon be smiling on you.
The Bottom Line: Your fate is in good hands; because its in YOUR hands.
