"Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit." (Galatians 6:8 NLT)
It would certainly be a surprise if you planted corn and pumpkins came up. It’s a natural law to harvest what we plant. It’s true in other areas, too. If you gossip about your friends, you will lose their friendship. Every action has results. If you plant to please your own desires, you’ll harvest a crop of sorrow and evil. If you plant to please God, you’ll harvest joy and everlasting life. What kind of seeds are you planting?(Tyndal Study Bible)
Have you caught yourself telling a white lie in self-preservation? We have all done this and even gone so far as to not tell the whole truth. We are so concerned about our own image that we do sinful things to gain recognition.
The topics last week were, "Accept His Love", "Don't Pretend", "Truly Transformed" and "Boast about Who".
The oldest principle in the Bible is seed time and harvest, day and night, hot and cold.
You see, no matter what we do, the sun will rise tomorrow. No matter how good or bad the situation is, the sun will rise. God will provide for the birds. Have you watched the birds go to work in the morning for food?
Where I live in Cape Town, birds from the neighbouring Robben Island make the 7km flight to the Mainland to find food. Sitting on our balcony, some evenings we watch them return.
Do you fly 14km daily for food? I am sure they are successful in their search, otherwise, why would they continue? We can take a "feather" out of their cap.
So in daily activities, do the correct thing that is the plant the seed, and the harvest will be plentiful. When at work, be smart don't waste time. Do the right thing and be guaranteed a harvest.
Always place God first in all you do and everything else will follow. Just like the birds, we have to take action
"Lord, I pray that I will please You first. I thank you for the promise of favour. In Jesus name. Amen."
