These verses give an example of how to “give up our lives” for others—to help those in need. This is strikingly similar to James’s teaching (James 2:14-17). How clearly do your actions say you really love others? Are you as generous as you should be with your money, possessions, and time? (Tyndale Study Bible)
Here goes, you might not like this. What is the definition of wealth?

Seeking true wealth may mean seeking deeper relationships, more personal growth, or ways to create more meaning in life. Achieving true wealth means possessing the ability to enjoy the small, ordinary pleasures of life. Each precious, present moment can be enjoyed. (Neha Kariyaniya)
Someone once asked Warren Buffett how he would describe the difference between getting rich and being wealthy?” His answer was short and to the point: “People seeking riches never have enough. Wealth is a state of mind. Wealthy people always have enough.”
To be wealthy is to be in life and to appreciate all aspects of it. It’s to be self-aware, live with purpose, and be committed not only to one’s own happiness but to helping others find theirs. True wealth is an inner condition of being.
A list of true wealth assets would likely include family, friends, education, talents, experience, connection to the community, self-esteem, the ability to help others, and good health (with some luck and good sense). All of these wealth assets contribute to an overall personal sense of wellbeing. It also includes the ability to earn more money. (Judith Mcgee)
Not a single comment above is about self, quite the contrary, it all about selflessness. That is why I posed the question about wealth. Yes, we live in a society that is self-centered. It's all supposed be about money. That is so far from reality. Again just pay attention to the comments above. The wealthy reach out and influence others. Just like Jesus did.
Scripture says there is no greater way to show your love than to lay done your life. Jesus did the ultimate thing he died for our sins. It, the Bible says, we need to reach out to our brothers and sisters. Read again and take note who reaches out to people? And what's more, we don't need to read this on the internet, its all in the Bible.
" Lord I pray for wealth, especially spiritual wealth, to reach people. Amen."
