Versions of the Truth
I don't know about anyone else, but I am truly amazed by mainstream media--especially in this present time. If I were to strike up a conversation with any total stranger in just about any place, we could talk for hours upon hours about all the happenings around the world and more specifically, what's going on in the U.S. It would seem as if news broadcasters are supposed to deliver stories that are fair and balanced but many times I don't find this to be the case and I know it's just not me.
I believe less than 50% of what I hear on CNN and FOX because the broadcasts are more entertainment than anything else. However, I must be one of the crazy ones because I'm noticing how many people are quick to regurgitate any and every thing they have learned while watching these stations, not knowing or caring that just like EVERYONE else, they too have agendas...one being ratings and the other being an intention to cause panic and distress.
At times I feel like the reason the world is being turned upside down is not so much because of events that are taking place, but because of the way certain media outlets portray what's really happening. Then, we have social media that feeds off of mainstream media. I like my Facebook and Instagram as much as the next person, but oftentimes, it's just too exhausting to read through many of the comments.
In no way am I downplaying social and racial injustices, murders, and other horrific acts that are destroying the human race. I do realize that just like myself, everyone is entitled to and has an opinion, but there comes a time when we have to recognize the difference between emotional truth and the truth that's based upon facts.
