I would like to bring your attention to a very important cause I am running.
It is my belief that sexual assault and rape victims are stigmatised in our society to a point where they feel as if they can't ask for support as their experiences are their own fault. This is wrong on so many levels.
oo many people are not taking their cases to the police as they know their attacker, so more resources (such as helplines, support and counsellors) are needed to help inform and ask the hard questions of governments – why is so little funding going into these initiatives?
The Oak Initiative has been created on behalf of a University Social Innovation Campaign, and hopes to achieve ultimately more awareness, less stigma for victims and more funding. A change.org petition has been created, so please go and sign it here!
